During the NASA ISAC Hackathon, four “mixed” teams comprising of 11 people from the Tokyo ISAC location and 13 people from the Boston ISAC location teamed up virtually to develop and submit web/software/other applications to the NASA ISAC.
After twenty-four hours of non-stop work, the teams at the Boston ISAC location submitted their project ideas to the local judges.
The results?? Mixed Team 3 won 2nd prize at the Boston ISAC location, as well as the People’s Choice award! Mixed Team 4 won the Evernote prize, an award given out by one of the Boston ISAC location sponsors! Congratulations to all the teams and participants!!!
NASA International Space Apps Challenge (ISAC) は、世界最大規模のハッカソンで、2013年は44ヶ国、83都市にて開催されました。今年は更に規模が拡大されるなか、2014年度、ボストンからも初参戦が決定しました。
会場はCambridge Innovation Center, 開発するにあたっては最高の環境で、約80人のハッカーが4/12,13日の二日間をかけて素晴らしいアイデアを形にしました。
この世界規模ハッカソンを舞台に、Binnovativeは東京会場とボストン会場をバーチャルで繋いで、東京会場の参加者とボストン会場の参加者でのミックスチームで一つの作品を作るという試みに挑戦。
結果として、ボストン大会で勝ち残った日米混成チームが94拠点からなるワールドワイドでファイナリストに選ばれるという快挙を収め、時空を超えた日本とボストンのコラボレーションの有効性が正当に世界標準で評価されました。
場所の壁、時差の壁、文化の壁を越えての共同作業で、一体どんな素敵なものが生まれたか？勿論作品だけではないですよね。
